It’s Purple. It’s small. It’s my notebook.

My precious PTL (Patricia Tennille Leerssen) gave out these cute little notebooks the other day at work. It’s a very small wire notebook that has become my new BFF (best friend forever). Do you like all my acronims?

Lists are developing. Lists of things to do for the week. Lists of things I’d like for my birthday (which happens to be next month….I will be 30….are you ready to celebrate with me?). Lists of things that Chris and I want to do in Austin that we’ve never taken advantage of. Lists make me feel alive. I feel like a butterfly that is about to break out of her cocoon. It’s feeling really good. You might want to watch out. I might fly by you really fast. Swoop.
My list for my birthday you ask…sure, I don’t mind sharing. Especially if you are thinking of buying me a present. I’m going to be 30 ya know. Have I said that already? 30 is a big year. I am thrilled! It is the starting of a new decade. And how blessed I am at this time in my life. I am becoming a new woman all over again. I love it.

Back to my purple BFF. Page 3 begins the birthday list. Now, its not super huge, but I find it hard for me to ever know what I want. I just always revert to clothes. And since I still have 10 pounds of baby weight to lose, I REFUSE to buy clothes this size anymore. I will continue to wear the same two pairs of pants each week until I drop weight. So hope you like my clothes. I’m not updating them anymore.

Here’s some things I have on my mind of what I’d like:

*a new nalgene bottle so I can be an avid water drinker again

*a pretty silky eye mask to put over my eyes at night so I can sleep like a baby

*new bra & panties (but again, I may weight a few months for this fun gift!)

*recipe box with cute recipe cards. they have cute ones at borders and i’m not really a big cooker, but my recipes currently are in a zip lock baggie in a drawer.

*Picky Maid–someone come clean my house!!! I am going to schedule a cleaning service to do a good Spring Clean.

*a new purse. I love my purse. It’s so very cool & funky. But I’ve carried it for 1 1/2 years now. It is time to say good-bye. It must be replaced.

*Spa Day. And I’m not talking about a pedi/mani/massage. I mean the works! I’d love some type of body polish/wrap, hot stones, massage, scalp massage, aromatherapy, the list goes on. I’ve looked at several places here in Austin. I’ve chosen a few packages that I think I’d like.

*VACATION! I know this is not something that will happen now. My goal was to have a cruise for my 30th birthday, but now with baby & 10 extra pounds & Dave Ramsey, who has gladly ruled our lives for 3 years, this will be put on hold for now.

Uh oh, work is calling me back to reality. Hope you all are able to purchase yourself a wonderful notebook like my purple BFF.

Summer I feel so honored to have made an appearance in your blog today. I would not know what to do with out my notepad and so glad you have put it to good use : )

There is a little story behind my love for my little notebook. My Dad was an engineer at IBM for 25 years, it’s what brought the Leerssen’s to Austin, TX, and IBM gave their employees a little pad - it was Black Leather and in gold lettering it said ‘THINK PAD’ on it. And you could just replace the notepad inside of it. As a child I always remember my Dad carrying it around with him. It was always in his front shirt pocket and was always filled with ideas, numbers and dimensions. I found one of these ‘Think Pads’ in our family garage a few years back and I have it tucked away for prosperity. So every time I use my little notebook I think of him…
