Girls Night Out Anyone?
June 1, 2007 2:38 pmOk, so you aren’t invited, but I AM! :) The NICU has Chris and I down for a little “slumber party” with Tatum Saturday & Sunday night before she comes home. I am SO thrilled, even about a stay in the hospital, who would have ever thought. :) They have a room just for the McCool family on the NICU ward with a double bed, fridge, & bathroom! Tatum will stay with her MOMMY AND DADDY for the first time EVER night and day until Monday morning when we can discharge her. The docs will only come and get her for when its time for her antibiotics. We will get a trial run of what it might be like once we get home. 
She is eating like a queen; even can latch on quite quickly to mommy’s “girls.” We do use a bottle supplement in case she doesn’t feed long enough and is still hungry, but hey, its a start.
I have a follow up appointment with my doctor on Monday morning to make sure my spike in fever on Wednesday was just my body begging me to please please please rest. I have been fever free for more than 24 hours now, and have been able to visit with Tatum today and am on my way back tonight. Thank you everyone for thinking of all three of us. FYI, my back spasms have stopped. I think it was highly due to stress and me not knowing I was stressed. I tend to carry everything in my neck and back without realizing it.
I must get ready for my little princess. OH, want to hear something so sweet? One of Tatum’s nurses in the NICU (Ellie) gave her a present! She treated Tatum for several days while on duty, and last spent time with Tatum Wednesday—and not on duty again until the end of next week. So, she gave Tatum a PRECIOUS blanket with the sweetest card and her email so we can keep in touch. My daughter is already touching others’ lives. :) We love you ELLIE!
Hope everyone is doing well. My thoughts are with those who are having a garage sale tomorrow, a TAP RECITAL tomorrow night that I would LOVE to attend (ha…you know who you are), those in small town Alpine, my next door neighbors whose little boy just started walking this week I heard, and everyone else I just missing seeing constantly. We’ll soon see each other! Love you all so much.

Summer, I praise the Lord for your healing. Sometimes our bodies let us know when it’s had enough, and needs to rest. I know it was hard, but you are a very strong women and you have done great! I am so glad that you both are going to be there for the next couple of days with Tatum! (I am even alittle envious). Give her a hug and kiss from her Nonna…and have fun!!! I love you all three with all my heart!!
It doesn’t surprise me Tatum is already impacting other’s lives — she is Summer & Chris’ daughter - could we expect anything less. Love you!
Summer, I have been reading your site and have been praying for you, Chris, and sweet Tatum. I am so happy that you will be bringing her home SOON!!!!!!! She is beautiful just like her mother! I can’t wait to see more pictures! Love you! Jen

We have been in AR for the last several days at Tabby’s wedding but are “catching up” today on how things are progressing with Tatum.
It sounds like God is moving and all is well in the McCool family. We will continue to keep you in our prayers as you move toward Tatum’s homecoming.

A mini-fridge & private bathroom? What is this a Hilton or a hospital? I’m so glad you’re all healthy. I’m a little bitter that Tatum has more hair than me, but I still can’t wait to meet her!
